School is officially in session around here along with all its pro and cons. We (as in me) are ready for a schedule and bedtimes but at the same time are sad to see the carefree days of summer gone. I can't lie, I like the order of having dinner and baths and reading together and then sending the kids off to bed. Afterwhich I get lost in a good book.
I love to see my kids learn and grow but at the same time I hate that they are a year older. I love that they make new friends and have their own individual adventures during the day, but I hate that Hagen wanders aimlessly around the house not knowing how to entertain himself. I can't believe I am old enough to have a second grader. I swear Cole was just born yesterday and now he is off to kindergarten.
However mixed my feelings are; we had a pretty exciting first day of school. Kallie is pretty vocal about her clothes these days and chose this interesting ensamble. I think she is pretty cute but honestly I am having a problem with the 80's buttrock look. Those flourecents are killing me! Her earrings were a huge battle, and we agreed she could wear them on the first day but after that they were really just for dress up. (I can't believe how soft Im getting!) Kallie is a social little bug and was excited to see all her friends and her new teacher Mrs. Brown.
Cole had a pretty good case of the first day jitters, but once he got to school he was just excited. He could've cared less what he wore, bypassing all his new stuff he chose a pair of summer shorts and a nice polo. Boys crack me up! (he is in a phase where he likes to tuck his shirts clear in and not pull them out at all because it make him look chubby that way??) Okay Tucky Tom!!
The morning flew by and after showering (not having time to fix my hair) and cleaning up a few disasters that Hagen made it was time to go get Cole. He loved it and informed me it was way better then preschool!!
